About the Serviceportal Saarland
Welcome to the Serviceportal Saarland
The new service portal offers central and convenient access to all administrative services in Saarland.
The portal is currently under construction and does not claim to be complete. Until all procedures have been transferred to the new Serviceportal Saarland, the previous online offering will continue to be available at buergerdienste-saar.de.
An initial version of the Serviceportal Saarland is currently available, which will be gradually expanded and optimized. We are continuously digitizing administrative services and making them available here. In doing so, we always aim to make our services as convenient and user-friendly as possible for you.
General information about the online services
1. What information can I find on the Serviceportal Saarland?
Here you will find helpful, serious and reliable information on services provided by the Saarland public administration. Our aim is to help private individuals and businesses to deal with official matters easily and successfully. On the portal, you can search the current service catalog, i.e. the comprehensive list of administrative services across all administrative levels of the Saarland. The results and information found are clearly displayed; this includes a brief description of the service, necessary documents and other requirements as well as contact persons, responsible authorities with contact details and much more. This information comes directly from the responsible source, the authority responsible for this service.
1.1. Plans for the future
In future, as many online services as possible should be available directly via the Serviceportal Saarland. In many cases, it will then no longer be necessary to go to the office. To this end, we are gradually and regularly integrating further administrative services with an online function, which you will then be able to carry out in whole or in part via the Internet.
2. Find administrative services
Apply for parental allowance, find the office responsible for your new ID card or get information on setting up a business: In the Serviceportal Saarland, you will find the right information and contact details for each administrative service to help you deal with your request. Three subject areas are available:
- For citizens
- For companies
- For authorities
In all three areas, you can easily search for administrative services and authorities of your choice by name or keyword. For citizens and companies, you can also narrow down your search by location or filter by topic: We have pre-filtered and grouped services for citizens by “life situations” and services for companies by “business situations”.
- Keyword search
1. finding the responsible office: In the keyword search in the search field (“Your place, district or postcode”), enter your city or postcode or the corresponding data for the place where you wish to apply for the benefit.
2. search for the specific service: Enter a search term for the desired service in the search field (“e.g. Identity Card”).
3. search for an authority: Enter a search term for the institution you are looking for in the search field (“Authority”).
A list of the results found will then appear.
- Search via subject areas
In the subject areas (“For citizens” and “For companies”) you will find overviews of the private life situations for private individuals and the business situations for companies and can select these. A drop-down menu will then display the relevant administrative services, which you can select and then view in detail.
- Search for authorities
When searching for authorities, you can either search for the desired authority by entering it in the “authority” search field or you can filter according to the existing list of typical categories or services offered by authorities.
If the search is unsuccessful, please use alternative search terms.
3. Help and Contact
- If you have technical problems or questions about using this portal, you can contact us using the contact form.
- If you have technical questions about services or an application, please contact the relevant authority directly; you will find the relevant contact information in this portal.
- The public authority number 115 is a telephone number within Germany that gives citizens, businesses and public authorities a direct line to the authorities and provides clear and reliable information on their questions.
4. FAQ
Who is responsible for my application?
Once you have found the right benefit, you will find a box on the right-hand side of the page with details of the responsible authority, contact details and further information.
Why can't I find the authority responsible for my request?
If the box is empty or the information appears that no competent authority has been found, please check whether you have entered a town or zip code in the search area. If this is the case and no competent authority appears, it is possible that the authority is not yet stored in the portal and connected to the service. In this case, we recommend using one of the relevant search engines, e.g. Google, to find the information you are looking for. State and federal authorities have their own websites so that you can obtain the relevant contacts and information in this way.
There may also be a central online service for your request, in which case you will be referred directly to it:

Why can't I find my service?
You will only find service descriptions on the Serviceportal Saarland that are also included in the public administration's service catalog. Therefore, there are still no suitable service descriptions for some topics and keywords. We are working on this. It is also possible that an administrative service is stored in the system under a different term - if your search is unsuccessful, please enter alternative terms.
How do I know whether an administrative service I am looking for is offered online?
Suitable administrative services and the responsible authorities are displayed as search results. If an online service is available for this service, this will be shown on the right-hand side of the page, where the details of the responsible authority appear, and you will be taken to the relevant service via a link.
Is my data secure?
Your personal data is protected against loss and misuse by third parties. Personal data is only collected during registration and digital application and stored in a secure system for this purpose. This data is then forwarded to the relevant authorities to process your application.
Further information
- OZG
The Onlinezugangsgesetz (OZG) stipulates that federal, state and local authorities must also offer their administrative services online. The Serviceportal Saarland is used to provide the necessary information on administrative services. It provides private individuals and businesses with information on the digitally available administrative services of the state and local authorities in Saarland. The services of the federal government and other federal states can also be accessed via the Portalverbundanbindung (PVOG).
- PVOG
The Portalverbund is the linking of all administrative portals of the federal government, federal states and municipalities. The aim is to enable private individuals and companies to access the administrative services they require directly, quickly and easily with just a few clicks and then process them securely online, regardless of which state or federal administration portal they have accessed.
You can find even more detailed information, e.g. on the federal portal and the European dimension of the topic, on the website of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Home Affairs.
- User accounts
To submit an application to a public authority, you usually have to identify and authenticate yourself. For example, if you submit an application to an authority in person, you identify yourself by introducing yourself with your name. You then authenticate yourself by showing your identity card. In this way, you can clearly and unequivocally prove who you are.
If you want to make use of administrative services online, you must also prove your identity. For this purpose, user accounts are provided for private individuals (“BundID”) and for legal entities (companies and organizations “Mein Unternehmenskonto”), which can be used to submit applications via the Internet. These user accounts are comparable to those used in online trading or online banking; the best-known variant from the public sector to date is the submission of a tax return via ELSTER-Online, where a certificate is used as proof of identity.
BundID user account
The Federal Ministry of the Interior and Home Affairs (BMI) has provided the BundID user account as a basic service for private individuals. After setting up the BundID, you can apply for the desired administrative service easily and securely. The required personal data is conveniently transferred from your user account to the administrative service you require. This saves you time and makes it easier for the authorities to process your applications.
Service portals of other federal states may not use the BundID, but other user accounts. In order to ensure that private individuals can identify themselves with a single user account for all digital administrative services throughout Germany, the various user accounts are to be linked to form an interoperable user account. This means that you can also use your BundID account to log in to the service portals of other federal states. If you have any questions about using BundID, please contact the Federal Ministry of the Interior using the contact form.
Mein Unternehmenskonto user account
Companies and organizations have around 200 contacts with different authorities each year. The standardized user account Mein Unternehmenskonto is designed to reduce the associated effort:
- Thanks to uniform access, companies and organizations can authenticate themselves quickly and easily in the digital application process.
- The central mailbox of the company account - based on the proven ELSTER technology - collects notifications and documents from all connected procedures in one place
Organizations, companies and associations (legal entities according to the legal term) can register at https://mein-unternehmenskonto.de and create their company account based on ELSTER. The existing ELSTER certificate of a company or organization can be used for this purpose. The advantages of using the new company account can be found on the website of the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs.
